| Abstract | To enable the UK to meet requirements of: i. to fulfil the reporting requirements for the Third National Communicaltion under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) due at the end of 2001 ii. report progress on policies under the EU Monitoring Mechanism iii. continue to develop its own policy repsonse through monitoring and evaluation of the UK Climate Change Programme iv. show demonstrable progress in meeting its commitments as required by Art 3.2 of the KyotoProtocol: and v. assess the scope for further emissions reduction | |
